Police in Pasco County, Florida say that a local pastor took advantage of a 17-year-old girl at his church after he told her that she suffered from both multiple personality disorder and demonic possession.
Local news station WFLA reports that 52-year-old Gerardo Martinez, the pastor of the Miracle Christian Church in Pasco County, has been arrested and charged with sexual battery of a teen congregant.
According to investigators, Martinez told both the girl and her parents that she had multiple personalities -- and that one of those personalities was possessed by a demon. The pastor then told the parents that he would need to spend some time alone with the girl in order to "pray" for her and help her expel the demon.
Once Martinez was alone with the girl, however, he made sexual advances on her. Police say that he had sex with the girl multiple times before he was finally arrested this month and charged with two accounts of sexual battery.
