Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Friday hit back at colleague Shep Smith over comments he made to Time Magazine, tweeting the Shepard Smith Reporting host “is a friend with political views I do not share,” he’s “clueless” about what the Hannity team does every day.
In an interview published Thursday, Smith said he and Hannity “serve different masters” and “work for different reporting chains, we have different rules.”
“They don’t really have rules on the opinion side,” Smith said of Hannity and fellow Fox News host Tucker Carlson. “They can say whatever they want. If it’s their opinion. I don’t really watch a lot of opinion programming. I’m busy.”
Smith also referred to his network’s opinion programing as “strictly” for entertainment.
“I get that,” Smith said. “I don’t work there. I wouldn’t work there. I don’t want to sit around and yell at each other and talk about your philosophy and my philosophy. That sounds horrible to me.”
