'The View' obliterates Anthony Scaramucci's claim Trump's affair with Stormy Daniels will disappear after two weeks

Brief White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci took the place of co-host Meghan McCain for Wednesday's show only to go down in flames when going up against the women at the table.

During a discussion about how Sarah Huckabee Sanders is navigating the strategy, "The Mooch" said that it was the "best strategy" to keep his mouth shut. "The president is a Duraflame log and any time you throw him on the fire, it blows into the stratosphere," he said.

"I think there's one other strategy that you could deploy here where he issues a statement from him and the first lady that 'we're taking our personal life off of the table here,'" Scaramucci continued.

Hostin explained that could get Trump in "legal trouble" if he "says something that's proven later is not true."

Co-host Joy Behar said that she thinks it's absurd for Trump not to talk about it.

"He talks about everything!" she said. "Alec Baldwin makes fun of him, he calls him Alex Baldwin. He doesn't even know his name. He makes fun of him. Anytime anybody says anything he's on there. It's a little suspicious this time. You say it's because he's protecting himself? I say it's because he knows it's true."

Scaramucci said that he thinks it's a combination of things, and that ultimately people will forget about it in two weeks because something else will come up.

"I don't think this is going away any time soon," Hostin disagreed.

"Maybe not, Sunny, but the American people are going to have to make a decision like they've made in Europe and places where there's electoral politics, do the candidates' personal lives matter?" Scaramucci retorted.

That’s when Whoopi Goldberg cut in with her own accusation of hypocrisy.

"It seems -- and maybe I'm crazy, but it does seem to matter more when it's a Democrat," she said. "It seems to be more focused when it's a Democrat."

He conceded it was true, though he noted Clinton was over 20 years ago and in that case, the GOP blew it out of proportion.

"Either it's on the table, it's fair game for everybody, or ... it's off the table in a bipartisan way," he said.

Hostin returned to the concern of possible legal problems this brings up for Trump. Similar to former President Bill Clinton, it was not the affair that got him into legal trouble, it was the lie. The current president could have broken campaign finance laws.

Joy brought up the fact that Trump brought the Clinton accusers to the 2016 debate, so the fact that it was 20 years ago, didn't hold water. Scaramucci conceded that it was hypocritical in the way the GOP has behaved.

"Do you think they would anesthetized by the scandal if it was Barack Obama in the middle of this?" Hostin asked.

"No," he replied. "I can answer that for you."
