An 82-year-old Oklahoma retired teacher who was sentenced to 60 years in prison for molesting a 9-year-old was freed on a medical commutation and allegedly sexually assaulted a worker at an erotic shop, according to the Oklahoman.

In 2005, Bobby Otto Powers was sentenced to 60 years in prison. Instead, he served only six years before being freed by the parole board because corrections officials claimed he was "ill and dying."

"They indicate his prognosis is terminal in from six months to a year," the board said.

But eight years later he's still alive—and free on bail while facing three felony counts of sexual battery.

According to police, in late November Powers went into a shop called Hustler Hollywood in Oklahoma City, put $10 in the clerk's hand and groped her crotch and backside.

The parole board had not informed Powers' victim of his release and she thought he'd died in prison.

"That's crazy," she told the Oklahoman when contacted about the new assault.
