Former president George H.W. Bush is in intensive care, CNN reports. According to the Dallas Morning News, he was admitted for a blood infection.

The news comes less than a week after the death of his wife of 73 years, Barbara Bush. Saturday, the former president attended his late wife’s funeral.

In a statement, the Office of George H.W. Bush said the former president "appears to be recovering."
