A suspect was taken into custody early morning for allegedly defacing property at American University with posters that compare survivors of the shooting in Parkland, Florida to Adolf Hitler.

WUSA reported that police caught up with the suspect around 2 a.m. near American University in Washington, D.C, where the posters had been used to cover utility poles and bus shelters.

The posters reportedly show the faces of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting survivors along with a photo of Hitler. According to the report, the suspect opposes gun control laws that have been discussed in the wake of the shooting.

WUSA also noted that the Hitler reference comes as American University is holding its Holocaust Remembrance Week.
