Russian lawyer who met with Don Jr at Trump Tower admits she’s an ‘informant’ for the Kremlin: report

According to a report in the New York Times, the Russian lawyer who met with President Donald Trump’s eldest son, Don Jr.,  son-in-law Jared Kushner and other campaign officials at Trump Tower before the election has a deeper relationship with the Kremlin than she has previously admitted.

Natalia V. Veselnitskaya has previously stated that she has only a passing acquaintance with the Kremlin but new emails show that she “worked hand in glove with Russia’s chief legal office to thwart a Justice Department civil fraud case against a well-connected Russian firm.”

The reports goes on to state that Veselnitskaya appears to have recanted her earlier denials of Russian government ties.

In an interview to be broadcast Friday by NBC News, she acknowledged that she was not merely a private lawyer but an informant for Kremlin official, Yuri Y. Chaika, the prosecutor general.

“I am a lawyer, and I am an informant,” she said. “Since 2013, I have been actively communicating with the office of the Russian prosecutor general.

On Thursday, The Daily Beast reported that Lev Parnas, the Rudy Giuliani associate currently under federal indictment for campaign finance violations, helped Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) arrange meetings in Europe as part of his efforts to discredit the investigation of Russian contacts within President Donald Trump's campaign.

According to congressional records, Nunes, in his capacity as then-House Intelligence Chairman, visited Europe from November 30 to December 3, of last year, during which he was accompanied by three staffers — Derek Harvey, Scott Glabe, and George Pappas — at a taxpayer expense of over $63,000.

Pro-Trump fundraisers subpoenaed by Manhattan federal prosecutors investigating Giuliani henchmen

On Wednesday, The New York Times reported that federal prosecutors with the Southern District of New York have issued subpoenas for a number of people financing President Donald Trump's re-election effort, as well as independent pro-Trump groups, as part of their investigation of indicted Rudy Giuliani associates Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman.

Among those subpoenaed are Brian Ballard, a Trump campaign donor, and two people who helped fundraise for the super PAC America First Action, all of whom allegedly worked with Parnas and Fruman as they helped Giuliani run the Ukraine scheme.
