YouTube active shooter has been identified as a woman — and is now deceased

The Los Angeles Times and NBC News have confirmed that the suspect in the YouTube active shooting event in San Bruno, California was identified as a woman. She is reportedly dead at the scene of the shooting, as per law enforcement officials that spoke with NBC News.

Earlier in the afternoon, news broke that an active shooter began opening fire on the YouTube campus located south of San Francisco. It's currently unclear if any fatalities occurred beyond that of the suspect.

Hours after the shooting and her death by a reported self-inflicted gunshot wound, law enforcement officials identified the shooter as 39-year-old Nasim Aghdam.
