As news spread that ABC cancelled Roseanne following a racist Twitter tirade by its star, Roseanne Barr, media analysts debated whether ABC should have green-lit the reboot in the first place.

After all, Barr has been posting and retweeting conspiracy theories for years.

On top of that, the show introduced a little black girl—DJ's daughter—to demonstrate that the Conners had changed with the times.

On CNN's Newsroom With Brooke Baldwin, April Ryan pointed out how offensive Roseanne's comments were to the child actress.

"Roseanne's reboot that just got the boot," Ryan said. "She wanted to show all of America she has a black grandchild on that show. So what is she saying about that black grandchild and to that black grandchild?" Ryan asked.

"We don't need to find out anymore because the show's gone. But there is a moment of victory for people who are trying to fight for morality and truth and what's right."
