The far-right in California are up-in-arms over President Donald Trump backing a more moderate Republican for governor.

Assemblyman Travis Allen (R-Huntington Beach) had hoped that President Trump would support is "take back California" message, but instead the president endorsed GOP rival John Cox.

That did not sit well with Allen's far-right base.

At a weekend rally at the border with Mexico, Times of San Diego reported Allen asked his 120 supporters in attendance to “tweet it to Donald Trump and say THIS is the candidate that the people want in California.”

"All of California is friendly to the president," Allen claimed. "Let's be very clear: The mainstream media and the polling got it entirely wrong in 2016 and continues to get it wrong today."

Apparently it is not just the media and polling getting it wrong, one sign read, "Even the almighty Trump gets it wrong sometimes."
