An Oklahoma nanny took an unorthodox approach to wage negotiations, kidnapping a couple's baby after demanding a raise.

"We have ... I don't even know how to describe it," the concerned father told the Logan County Sheriff's office, KOCO News 5 reports. "Our nanny has possession of our baby and is threatening not to bring her home unless we pay her a check that's not due until tomorrow."

"I don't know what to do, she's irate."

According to the police report, the family had refused her request for a raise so she decided to quit.

"I'm quitting my job today and they are not paying me but I need to be paid in order to quit. I need my full pay check," she told the 911 dispatcher.

Logan County Sheriff's officers reminded local residents that kidnapping is, in fact, a serious crime but so far the family has declined to press charges.
