James Comey buries the GOP in scathing tweet: How will they 'explain this to their grandchildren?'

As President Donald Trump continues to up the ante on his claims that the FBI "spied" on his campaign, the FBI director he fired just over a year ago nailed exactly why the attacks are so dangerous.

"Facts matter," former FBI director James Comey tweeted Wednesday morning. "The FBI’s use of Confidential Human Sources (the actual term) is tightly regulated and essential to protecting the country."

"Attacks on the FBI and lying about its work will do lasting damage to our country," he continued. "How will Republicans explain this to their grandchildren?"
