On Tuesday evening, Donald Trump addressed the Susan B. Anthony List 11th Annual Campaign for Life Gala, an event celebrating the group's mission to reduce access to abortion.
"When I ran for office, I pledged to stand for life, and as president, that's exactly what I have done and I have kept my promise and I think everybody here understands that totally," he said, CNN reported.
After he concluded his speech he underlined his commitment to stripping women of their reproductive rights on Twitter.
"For the first time since Roe v. Wade, America has a Pro-Life President, a Pro-Life Vice President, a Pro-Life House of Representatives and 25 Pro-Life Republican State Capitals!" the president gushed.
He followed up with, "In America, we believe in LIFE!"
Twitter reacted swiftly in pointing out the hypocrisies in the statement.
