Miami police shot a man early on Friday after he opened fire inside the lobby of the Trump National Doral Golf Club, a resort owned by Donald Trump, and draped an American flag over a counter as he shouted remarks about the U.S. president, police said.

Officers responding to a call of an active shooter at 1:30 a.m. local time at the 800-acre resort outside Miami exchanged gunfire with the man, Doral Police Chief Hernan Organvidez said at a news conference.

The wounded man, who was not identified, was taken to a local hospital. An officer was injured, but not by gunfire, police said.

The man was “yelling and spewing” some information about Trump and draped a U.S. flag over a counter, Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez said.

“We are not saying this is terrorism, but we are not discounting anything at this point,” Perez said, adding it was unclear what had motivated the man.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement was investigating the shooting, the Miami-Dade Police Department said.

Federal agencies including the U.S. Secret Service also responded to the scene, Perez said.

Police did not disclose what kind of weapon the man was firing.

Trump National Doral Golf Club is home to four championship golf courses, including the Blue Monster, which plays host to a PGA Tour event each year. Trump bought the property for $150 million in 2012.

Trump ripped for ‘mops and buckets’ plan for climate change: ‘Imagine being this proud of being this ignorant’

Published

President Donald Trump on Saturday laid out his plan for New Yorkers to use "mops and buckets" to deal with rising sea levels from climate change.

In the president's mind, simply cleaning up after devastating floods is a superior option than stopping climate change or building a seal wall to protect New York.

"A massive 200 Billion Dollar Sea Wall, built around New York to protect it from rare storms, is a costly, foolish & environmentally unfriendly idea that, when needed, probably won’t work anyway. It will also look terrible," Trump claimed. "Sorry, you’ll just have to get your mops & buckets ready!"

President Donald Trump's Saturday at Trump International Golf Club did not seem to relax the commander-in-chief.

He also attacked a plan to build a sea wall to protect New York City from climate change for economic, intellectual, environmental and aesthetic reasons.

President Donald Trump lashed out at two Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists on Saturday after returning to Mar-a-Lago from Trump International Golf Club.

Trump lashed out at Philip Rucker and Carol Leonnig for their highly-anticipated new book, A Very Stable Genius: Donald J. Trump's Testing of America, which will be released on Tuesday.

The two were on The Washington Post team that won a Pulitzer Prize for their coverage of the Trump administration.

"Another Fake Book by two third rate Washington Post reporters, has already proven to be inaccurately reported, to their great embarrassment, all for the purpose of demeaning and belittling a President who is getting great things done for our Country, at a record clip," Trump claimed, without offering any evidence.
