President Donald Trump recently lashed out at White House staffers who leak out information about his administration as "traitors" -- but one Republican staffer with White House ties says the president should be pointing the finger at himself.

In a Politico article about White House leaks, the unnamed strategist said that Trump has created a culture of fear and loathing within the White House that turns people against one another and makes them less likely to care about the damage they're doing to their own administration's reputation.

"If you're mad at the boss, then you don't care if settling the score distracts from his message," the strategist explained. "That's the culture Trump has bred."

Even though a major shakeup for the White House communications team is being rumored, Politico's source said that leaks will continue to flow from the White House as long as Trump is president.

"It will never change," the strategist said. "Trump has bred a totally dysfunctional and disloyal atmosphere. He is the reason why the White House operates this way. If he’s unhappy with it, then he should look in the mirror."
