An unarmed science teacher at the Noblesville West Middle School in Indiana reportedly stopped what could have been another horrific mass shooting by tackling the student gunman and throwing away his weapon.
A seventh-grade Noblesville student tells local news station Fox 59 that she saw her science teacher charge the gunman, who had entered her classroom and fired a shot at a fellow student.
After the teacher tackled the shooter, he swatted away their weapon, the witness tells Fox 59.
So far, police have only revealed that one student and one adult were injured as a result of the shooting, which took place on Friday morning just after 9 a.m.
The name of the teacher has not yet been made public, and Fox 59 could not confirm if the teacher was the same adult whom police said was injured during the shooting.
