In an interview with MSNBC, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) said that she's not ruling out a run against President Donald Trump in 2020, but that she has more important things going on.
The interview was Kassie Hunt was on the California border as the senator investigated a detention facility with children and families being held.
When asked about the potential presidential run, Harris first said that she was focused more on 2018. When probed, however, Harris said she has more important things she needs to tend to, referring to immigration and the border crisis.
However, when asked further, she said, "I'm not ruling it out, no."
"We've got to critically re-examine ICE and its role and the way that it is being administered and the work it is doing," she also said. "We probably need to think about starting from scratch."
