Fox News gets caught flat-footed after Trump caves on separating families: 'This issue is a huge, huge loser'
John Roberts speaks to Kennedy Montgomery (Fox News/screen grab)

Fox News White House correspondent John Robert asserted on Wednesday that President Donald Trump will end his "zero tolerance" policy of separating immigrant families because he had lost the battle for the draconian practice.

Outnumbered host Dagen McDowell asked Roberts what made the president change his mind on the policy.

"Clearly the president wants to be the the law and order president," Roberts explained. "But this issue is rapidly becoming a huge, huge loser for the White House, for the Department of Homeland Security, for Customs and Border Projection, ICE -- everyone who is involved in enforcing laws along the border."

"This is becoming very real for the administration in terms of the blowback," he added. "You've got a number of very prominent Republicans saying this is unacceptable and needs to change. And I think this president is really beginning to feel the heat."
