CNN's Chris Cuomo and Van Jones slammed former President Donald Trump aide David Urban on Tuesday for defending the hypocrisy of the Singapore summit.

Cuomo said if former President Barack Obama would have praised North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un that Republicans would be in a frenzy right now.

Cuomo said President Trump has not acknowledged Kim Jong-un's oppressive dictatorship behavior.

"Can you imagine what would happen if President Obama had gone to a dictator like this, a brutal, brutal genocidal thug and said  'I'm honored to meet you?'" Cuomo said.

Jones said language is important.

"Listen, language matters. Positioning matters. I remember when Bill Clinton didn't even want a photograph of him smiling next to [world leaders]. He was sending clear signals. This is a horrible person, I am doing it for political expedience. He didn't say you're honorable, you're great, everybody loves you. If president Obama had used that language, it would have been put across the entire spectrum because you don't praise them," Jones said.
