Trump suggests immigrant kids he’s holding hostage are crisis actors

President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that the immigrant children being held at detention facilities in the United States are being trained to lie in order to gain unlawful entry into the country.

While speaking at the National Federation of Independent Business, Trump defiantly said that he would not be changing his administration’s policies on separating immigrant children from their families.

Specifically, Trump said that immigrant children were coached to make false statements about the reasons they are fleeing their home countries to gain entrance to the United States.

“They tell these people exactly what to say,” Trump alleged. “They say, ‘Say the following.’ They write it down. ‘I am being harmed in my country. My country is extremely dangerous. I fear for my life.'”

Trump then said that such statements were “given to them by lawyers who are waiting for them to come up” to the United States.

Finally, Trump said that refugees fleeing violence in their home countries were simply lying about the reasons for wanting to come to the United States.

“They’re not coming for that reason,” he said. “They’re coming up for many other reasons.”

‘Cold Civil War’: Carl Bernstein offers chilling preview of the stakes in Trump impeachment hearings

Published

Legendary reporter Carl Bernstein on Tuesday delivered a chilling warning about the state of American politics ahead of President Donald Trump's impeachment hearings.

During a CNN appearance, Bernstein was asked where the country stood just one day before the start of public impeachment hearings -- and he didn't mince words.

"Where we stand as a country in the middle of a cold civil war," he said. "Everything is going to be judged politically in the context of that cold civil war."

Bernstein then laid out how much damning evidence that Democrats have collected so far, which he said in another era would likely lead to the president's conviction in the Senate. Now, however, he said that all the evidence in the world might not be enough to end Trump's presidency.

Kellyanne Conway snaps after Fox News host mentions Adam Schiff

On Fox News Tuesday, anchor Bill Hemmer asked White House counselor Kellyanne Conway about the impeachment hearings — and she lost her temper as soon as he brought up House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA).

"How concerned is the president over these hearings?" asked Hemmer.

"The president is not concerned at all," said Conway. "The business of the people of this country is not being done ... the Capitol behind me is not a movie set, it is not a cardboard cutout. It’s where your representatives work for you, wasting your money and their time."

"Just to come back to this, I am told that Adam Schiff delivers the opening statement tomorrow," said Hemmer.

‘You can smell the corruption’: MSNBC’s Morning Joe burns Nikki Haley for selling her soul to take Pence’s job

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough offered a warning to his old pal, Vice President Mike Pence: Watch out, because Nikki Haley wants your job.

The former South Carolina governor and UN ambassador has been making the rounds promoting a new book -- and praising President Donald Trump as truthful and competent, and the "Morning Joe" host said there's only one explanation for Haley squandering her reputation before the 2024 election.

"I have one word for Mike Pence, my friend -- duck," Scarborough said. "I mean, Nikki Haley, unless she wanted the job, would not -- would not so besmirch her own reputation. She just said she had no question as to Donald Trump's fitness for the job."
