President Donald Trump will have a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin next month, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday.
The visit will happen while Trump is in Europe, though it's unclear if it will be at the NATO summit on July 11 or when Trump visits the U.K. on July 13, two people with knowledge of the trip confirmed..
Trump has praised Putin over the past several months and demanded that he be added to the G-7 group. At the same time, the president has claimed he's been harder on Russia than his predecessor.
“You know, whether you like it or not, and it may not be politically correct, but we have a world to run,” Trump said at the G-7. “And in the G-7, which used to be the G-8, they threw Russia out. They should let Russia come back in, because we should have Russia at the negotiating table.”
