Former Russian ambassador under President Barack Obama, Michael McFaul, tweeted on Wednesday that he wished the White House would take action and put a stop to President Trump's and Vladimir Putin's demand for McFaul to be interrogated.

According to Bloomberg, The White House said that President Trump might allow Russia to question McFaul.

In response McFaul said: "I hope the White House corrects the record and denounces in categorical terms this ridiculous request from Putin. Not doing so creates a moral equivalence between a legitimacy [sic] US indictment of Russian intelligence officers and a crazy, completely fabricated story invented by Putin."
