Over the weekend people gathered for the "Keep Families Together" march in protest against President Donald Trump's zero-tolerance immigration policy.

On Monday, CNN's Chris Cuomo hammered former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) for attempting to place blame on the Democratic party for the immigration issues.

"Republicans aren't changing it either, and you control everything," Cuomo said.

"We don't control everything," Santorum said. However, Cuomo wasn't taking that as an answer.

"I'm not letting the congress off the hook, you control, the house, the senate, and the presidency, and now the supreme court," Cuomo said.

Santorum then tried to downplay the issue of immigration by saying that other administrations also tore apart families at the U.S. border.

"Hold on. Scale matters when you're dealing with humanity. We're not talking about bean counting. When you go to arrest everyone, and you don't have judges, and you don't have accommodations, you knew what you were doing," Cuomo said. "You did it anyways. That's is the problem, and we'll see where it leads."
