Michael Cohen says president knew about Trump Tower meeting -- contradicting son's sworn testimony

President Donald Trump was told about the meeting his son held with Russian intelligence to discuss getting "dirt" on Hillary Clinton, former personal attorney Michael Cohen says according to CNN.

Cohen's claim contradicts sworn statements that Donald Trump Jr. gave to Congress, in which he stated that he would not waste his father's time by sharing details of the meeting.

Cohen is reportedly willing to tell special prosecutor Robert Mueller that he witnessed Donald Trump Jr. telling his father about the meeting, which contradicts statements both men have made since.

This would be the second proven lie to cover up the meeting, as the president dictated a letter that misrepresented the circumstances of the meeting and then denied it until being busted in the lie.
