Russia's state television network on Tuesday seemed very pleased with President Donald Trump's joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Julia Davis, who runs the Russian Media Monitor website, reports via Twitter that Russian TV show host Olga Skabeeva told her viewers that Trump showed his support for Russia during the conference by defying his aides' pleas to mention Russia's annexation of Crimea during his joint appearance with his Russian counterpart.

"Trump failed to mention Russia's aggression in Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea," Skabeeva said, according to Davis' translation. "He didn't forget, but purposely didn't mention it."

Skabeeva went on to say that it was actually Putin who brought up the dispute over Crimea during an appearance on Russia's state TV network after the press conference.

"Putin had to come to Trump's rescue," she said, as the audience applauded.

Last month, Skabeeva celebrated Trump reportedly reciting Russian talking points about Crimea during a G7 conference while proudly declaring that, "Crimea is ours, Trump is ours!"
