President Donald Trump claimed credit for preventing war with North Korea -- even as evidence mounts that Kim Jong-un has increased production of fuel for nuclear weapons.

The president crowed about his talks last month with the North Korean leader, who seems to have not taken any concrete steps to hold up his end of a pledge on nuclear weapons.

"Many good conversations with North Korea-it is going well!" Trump tweeted. "In the meantime, no Rocket Launches or Nuclear Testing in 8 months. All of Asia is thrilled. Only the Opposition Party, which includes the Fake News, is complaining. If not for me, we would now be at War with North Korea!"

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will travel to North Korea on Thursday to encourage Pyongyang to honor commitments the U.S. says it gave during the Trump-Kim summit.
