Legendary basketball star Michael Jordan took the side of equally legendary NBA star, LeBron James after President Donald Trump smeared James as unitelligent in a late night tweet.
As part of Trump’s attack on James and CNN Don Lemon, the president wrote “I like Mike” similar to the advertising slogan “Be like Mike” once used to promote Jordan.
Jordan, who now owns the Charlotte Hornets issued an official statement on Saturday, via a spokesperson, backing James and ignoring the president, simply saying: “I support LJ. He’s doing an amazing job for his community.”
You can see Trump’s tweet and the repsonse from Jordan below:
Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon. He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!
