MSNBC's Katy Tur wonders how Jerry Falwell Jr. turned into Trump's counselor on firing Jeff Sessions
MSNBC anchor Katy Tur.

In a series of tweets, President Donald Trump attacked Attorney General Jeff Sessions and hinted that he wanted to fire him over the special counsel Rober Mueller investigation into the Russia probe.

"Jeff Sessions said he wouldn’t allow politics to influence him only because he doesn’t understand what is happening underneath his command position. Highly conflicted Bob Mueller and his gang of 17 Angry Dems are having a field day as real corruption goes untouched. No Collusion!" Trump tweeted. [sic]

One unlikely voice decided to give the president advice on what he should do. MSNBC's Katy Tur asked her panel how they felt about Liberty University president and televangelist Jerry Falwell Jr. giving the president advice.

"There's also reporting that Jerry Falwell Jr. has told the president to fire Jeff Sessions. Why is Jerry Falwell Jr. involved in it?" Tur asked.

"I'm not sure it's any more relevant than the president. The president obviously wants to get rid of Sessions," political correspondent Nick Confessore said. "One thing holding him back is that the Senate made clear he will not get a replacement confirmed, so it won't solve any of his problems quickly."
