An exodus of LGBTQ people has started in Florida as they flee the state over Gov. Ron DeSantis' hard-right persecution policies, Pride organizer Danielle Oliviani told the Daily Beast.

New laws are forcing some Pride organizations around the state to cancel their month long celebrations ,which usually start in June, in a climate of fear, particularly in light of new legislation DeSantis signed making businesses that host drag shows liable if children are present, Oliviani, who is in heavily Republican Lake County, said.

An electronic road sign in Alabama was hacked to display white supremacist propaganda on Memorial Day, reported AL.com.

"Images on social media showed large digital traffic signs displaying the words 'Patriot Front' and 'reclaim America,'" reported William Thornton. "One driver, heading north on I-65, stated on Twitter that an Alabama state trooper 'waved me to go on.' 'How does this come about? Is it an inside job kind of thing? It also said ‘Road Work Nightly’ or something on the third ‘slide’ and it was an actual work zone that followed. Weird as hell.'

Extremist House Republicans are furious how President Joe Biden was able to craft a debt ceiling deal without giving up much, but according to Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, GOP lawmakers were able to put work requirements into the legislation that will require families using government assistance to put their "able bodied" children to work in order to continue receiving benefits.

"We also did something different," McCarthy, trying to sell GOP voters on the bill, told Fox News Tuesday morning. "In this family we may have a child, able-bodied, not married, no kids, but he's sitting on the couch collecting welfare."
