President Donald Trump's tribute to September 11 victims in Shanksville, Pennsylvania was disgraceful.
On Tuesday, CNN's Jake Tapper show said that President Trump's focus on himself during a historic day was simply "gross."
Political Commentator Angela Rye said that it was extremely inappropriate.
"It's really interesting to me that we hold everyone to a higher standard than we do the commander-in-chief. So 9/11, Donald Trump, is as inappropriate as he is on any given Sunday," Rye said.
She added, "He started with fast tweeting about Russia collusion. He is fist-pumping going to Shanksville, and he's thumbs upping reporters getting ready to tour a memorial site."
Rye said that Trump should take a sympathy note out of former presidents' playbooks.
"Maybe there's something he can do. How about copy and paste. Maybe copy and paste Barack Obama's tweet or George w. Bush's -- anybody," Rye said.
