A GOP congressman believes accusations of sexual assault against Brett Kavanaugh are "absurd" because the teens involved were "drunk" and the Supreme Court nominee was not successful.

CNN's KFILE reported that Rep. Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a GOP Senate candidate, made the comments during an interview with North Dakota DJ Jarrod Thomas.

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's accusations are "even more absurd because these people were teenagers when this supposed alleged incident took place," Cramer told the 1310 KNOX DJ.

"These are teenagers who evidently were drunk, according to her own statement," he continued. "They were drunk. Nothing evidently happened in it all, even by her own accusation."

The report noted that Ford claimed Kavanaugh was "stumbling drunk" during the alleged attempted assault, but that she'd only had one beer.

"Again, it was supposedly an attempt or something that never went anywhere," Cramer insisted.

The Senate nominee also said Ford's accusation is even more "absurd" than Anita Hill's sexual harassment allegations against Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas during his confirmation hearing in the early 90's.
