Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) complained about the "very ugly process" of the Brett Kavanaugh nomination during a Wednesday radio interview with WVOM in Bangor.
Sen. Collins describes herself as pro-choice and is considered a potential swing vote during Senate confirmation.
She told WVOM that the GOP is working to "convince" Dr. Christine Ford to testify on Monday, saying that, "it would be better for her."
Sen. Collins also called for law enforcement to provide protection for the accuser, who has been receiving threats.
"My office has received some pretty ugly voicemails, threats, terrible things said to my staff," Collins complained.
"This has been a very ugly process and I think that's very unfortunate for everyone involved," Collins added.
