‘I’ve never blacked out’: Kavanaugh says he loves drinking and still does 'so whatever'

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has appeared tired and emotional throughout his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.

After delivering an opening speech in which he broke down crying and took theatrical breaks to sip water, Kavanaugh again repeated the line that he likes beer.

"I drank beer, my friends and I," Kavanaugh said. "Yes, we drank beer, boys and girls. I liked beer. I still like beer."

Kavanaugh did admit to drinking to excess.

"Sometimes, probably had too many beers," Kavanaugh said. "We drank beer, I like beer."

Kavanaugh refused to say how many beers he drank.

"I like beer," Kavanaugh said.

And yet Kavanaugh was emphatic about never passing out.

"Passed out would be? No, I've gone to sleep, but I've never blacked out," he said. "That's the allegation? Uh, and, and—that's wrong."

Kavanaugh also said that he never woke up without his clothes or forgot what happened the night before.

"We drank beer and still do, so whatever," he said.
