On Friday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) spoke on the floor to move Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation forward.
McConnell initiated this vote despite Trump ordering the FBI to investigate sexual assault claims made against Kavanaugh.
"The committee has thoroughly investigated last-minute allegation brought forward. The evidence that has been produced fails to corroborate these accusations," McConnell said. "This is a nomination that deserves to move forward, and that is precisely, Mr. President, what is happening."
Kavanaugh will either be confirmed or denied depending on the FBI investigation.
