Senate committee discusses health care (screen grab)
CNN has confirmed that a foreign government attempted to hack the personal email accounts of multiple U.S. Senators and their staffers.
Sen. Ron Wyden, (D-Or) said in a letter that a technology company informed him of the breach.
"At least one major technology company has informed a number of Senators and Senate staff members that their personal email accounts were targeted by foreign government hackers," he said.
On Thursday, former State Department policy aide Jake Sullivan told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that hacks will continue to happen because "President Donald Trump does not take them seriously."
"The Russia playbook is [easy to read] and the US should do more," Sullivan said.
