While Vice President Mike Pence eagerly awaits the Ides of March, "Late Show" host Stephen Colbert decided he was willing to give the lie detector test the VP was willing to take.
Splicing together videos of Pence's latest interview, Colbert walked through the key questions that could get to the heart of the VP's true feelings about President Donald Trump.
"You've said in reference to the anonymous op-ed in The New York Times, you would agree to take a lie detector test?" Colbert asked.
"In a heartbeat," the vice president confessed.
"Great, because I have one right here," Colbert said rolling out the machine. "Let's place these sensors on your fingers. ready? Do you think the Russians helped elect President Trump?"
"I think, look, this is a president that was elected by speaking directly to the American people and being candid with the American people," Pence managed to get out while the machine was nearly short-circuiting.
"Now, according to Bob Woodward's book, the Trump administration is experiencing a nervous breakdown," Colbert continued. "Sir, is there chaos inside the White House?"
"It's absolutely absurd!" Pence answered while the lie detector went nuts.
