President Donald Trump's economic advisor Stephen Moore downplayed Trump's family history of tax fraud during an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo on Tuesday.
The New York Times released a bombshell report that revealed Trump inherited his wealth from his father committing tax fraud.
Moore argued that The Times article is false because Trump has been audited several times.
"Donald Trump has probably been audited hundreds of times; there's probably not too many people in America who have been audited more than Donald Trump," Moore said.
"How do you know that?" Cuomo asked.
"He said it," Moore responded.
"Oh," Cuomo said as he laughed.
