The fundraising efforts of Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) are once again under scrutiny as the chair of the House Intelligence Committee fights for political survival during the 2018 midterms.

The latest criticism came for Jim Reeves, who writes the "Alternating Currents" blog for the Visalia Times-Delta newspaper in the San Joaquin Valley.

"For the past few weeks, I've been getting emails from Devin Nunes begging for money. Today's email promises, in capital letters, that any donation will be 'QUADRUPLE-MATCHED,'" Reeves reported.

"I have just one question for Devin Nunes: Who is funding the "QUADRUPLE MATCH"?" he asked.

"So, Devin... who's funding the match? Dark money much? And what do those funders get for their money?" he wondered.

Also of local note, Nunes’ hometown paper, the Fresno Bee, has supported him since his first run from Congress in 2002. This year, the Bee endorsed Nunes’ opponent, Andrew Janz.
