On Monday, MSNBC’s Joy Reid connected the dots in response to a bombshell report that said a Veteran Republican Operative, Peter Smith, raised over $100,000 to hunt down Hillary Clinton’s stolen e-mails.
Smith, has since passed away, but his work still lingers and is of interest to Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russia’s interference into the 2016 presidential race.
“In the final stretch of the 2016 presidential campaign, Peter Smith was on a quest, hunting for what he believed to be e-mails stolen by Russian hackers from Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail server. The Wall Street Journal interviewed Mr. Smith for that story,” Reid said.
“Smith implied to The Journal that his secret endeavor was somehow tied to Michael Flynn who had been an adviser in the campaign. And then about ten days after he talked to The Wall Street Journal, Peter Smith died,” she added. “He was found dead in a Minnesota hotel room in an apparent suicide.”
Reid continued to connect the bizarre dots to Smith’s connection to Russian interference.
“It was not just Mike Flynn who Peter Smith implied was connected to his search for Hillary Clinton’s e-mails. According to Smith, it was also a handful of other top-tier campaign aides like Kellyanne Conway and Steve Bannon,” she explained.
Reid then circled back and pointed out the significance of Smith raising thousands of dollars and how it connects back to Russian interference.
“If you’re wondering what all of this means, if you’re wondering what might connect all these dots, you’re in very good company. The Journal reports that Robert Mueller is also investigating Peter Smith’s quest for Clinton’s e-mails,” she said.

A Michigan Catholic priest has been charged with one count of false imprisonment after he wrapped a teenage boy in plastic wrap and covered his eyes and mouth with masking tape, all while trapping him in the janitor's room of a church, ClickOnDetroit reports.
Rev. Brian Stanley, 57, faces up to 15 years in prison and would also have to register as a sex offender if convicted.
Stanley was reportedly entrusted by the teen's family as a counselor before the incident took place in the fall of 2013 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Otsego.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Fox News ripped to shreds by media analyst for running state-news network briefing for Trump
Washington Post media critic Erik Wemple unleashed hellfire on former press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Fox News for hiring her to deliver the White House spin for the president on their air.
Fox News, which has only modest actual news reporting outside of its opinion arm, but that's no reason to hire a liar to the network, he explained.
He cited the greatest hits from the Huckabee-Sanders show that happened less and less frequently from the White House podium. He included everything from the time she doctored a video of CNN's Jim Acosta to accuse him of assaulting a White House intern to her accusation of "fake news" to every question she didn't like.
