MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace on Thursday explained why she doesn't believe claims that the GOP has been emboldened by the sexual assault allegations leveled against Brett Kavanaugh.
"I'm not buying the Kavanaugh bounce, if you will," Wallace said as she and her panelists discussed the Supreme Court nominee's prospects for being confirmed to the bench. "I think the same people that were likely to vote in midterms for Republicans are still likely to vote in midterms for Republicans and the same people that were energized because of their feelings about Donald Trump are still more likely to vote for Democrats."
The idea that Kavanaugh swung the midterms "back in the Republican's favor is lunacy," the host said.
"The Senate was always barely in reach for Democrats," she said. "Maybe, maybe not. The House was always more likely to be something they could take over."
"But this narrative is sinking in that because of Brett Kavanaugh and the fight and Donald Trump talking about how scary this moment is for men, Democrats blew it — I don't see it," Wallace concluded.
