MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace 'gobsmacked by the Republicans' audacity of spin' that they're 'not screwed'

MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace confessed she was "gobsmacked by the Republicans' audacity of spin" as they campaign against Democrats for the 2016 election.

During a discussion about the upcoming midterms, Wallace said that when voters fall for the most absurd spin political "flacks high-five each other."

She was referring to the recent decision by President Donald Trump to proclaim Democrats will be supporting Republicans in November. Oddly, the strategy is running in conjunction with a message from Trump that Democrats are the enemy of the country and have created a mob mentality.

"Everyone has fallen, hook, line and sinker for the notion that Republicans are not screwed because they've tapped into some sort of backlash against #MeToo with the Kavanaugh nomination," Wallace said, speaking to Washington Post reporter Phil Rucker. "How gleeful is the White House that they're actually having some success at selling what I think is a completely bogus message?"

Rucker explained that Trump is clearly "gleeful" as he traveled on his multi-state victory lap. Rucker noted that the GOP and the White House are in cahoots to create a common enemy in "the angry mob" and what Trump Monday called a "hoax" of sexual assault allegations.

Wallace also wondered how the White House and the GOP could claim they were going to win in November due to the increase in enthusiasm, while simultaneously preparing for investigations from a Democratic Congress.
