RNC spokeswoman gets schooled by a Fox contributor after claiming the 'left’s mob-like tactics are backfiring'

RNC spokesperson Kayleigh McEnany told "Fox and Friends" Tuesday that "fired up" Republicans, still angry about Brett Kavanaugh's hearings, would put the kibosh on an anticipated Democratic blue wave, and got smacked down by contributor Jessica Tarlov.

"There is simply no doubt the left's mob-like tactics are backfiring," said a smirking McEnany, pointing to internal polling. "It is firing up Republicans. The Republican National Committee, we had the best day of online fund-raising in the history of our party. Not just this year, not just this cycle, the history of our party on September 30th."

Tarlov batted away McEnany's claims, saying she was misrepresenting the results. "There are more numbers that matter in that poll. 51% oppose Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation. And 52% versus 38% believe the women versus believe Brett Kavanaugh," she said, noting a surge in donations to North Dakota Democrat Heidi Heitkamp in the wake of her opposition. "I don't know if it backfires in terms of the blue wave won't happen or at least taking majority at the house. That's still 75% odds."

Clearly disgusted by President Trump's attacks on Kavanaugh accuser Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, Tarlov slammed the GOP for "their usual language this is hoax."

"The president can use it to whip up the base, but that doesn't necessarily mean that come November 6th, that people are going to sit there and think 'oh, Brett Kavanaugh, Associate Justice on the Supreme Court is such an aggrieved party here'," she said.

"They might be thinking of Dr. Ford who can't go back to her home," Tarlov added. "Or they might be thinking about the millions of women across this country each year who are sexually assaulted, and don't feel strong enough to report it or that they will be heard and listened to."
