On Friday, comedian Stephen Colbert took a break from the news cycle and joked about other noteworthy events besides Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

In a segment titled "less depressing news," Colbert talked about President Donald Trump's relationship with Canada.

"We've been talking about Kavanaugh since 1954 ... let's take a pause from the Kavanaugh saga," he said.

"We are friends with Canada again," he said. Colbert joked that Trump's new trade deal with Canada was "almost the same as the old NAFTA but with a different name."
