Trump blames media for 'great anger' in the country -- and doubles down on calling them 'enemy of the people'

President Donald Trump is once again making inflammatory attacks on the news media -- even though CNN received multiple packages containing explosive devices from one the president's devoted followers.

Writing on Twitter, the president said that the media bore primary responsibility for the "great anger" in the United States.

"There is great anger in our Country caused in part by inaccurate, and even fraudulent, reporting of the news," Trump wrote. "The Fake News Media, the true Enemy of the People, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news accurately & fairly. That will do much to put out the flame of Anger and Outrage and we will then be able to bring all sides together in Peace and Harmony. Fake News Must End!"

Trump supporter Cesar Sayoc last week allegedly sent multiple packages filled with explosives to Trump's critics, including some pundits working at CNN. Despite this, Trump has refused to tone down his attacks on the media -- and even said that he might "tone up" his attacks because the press has allegedly treated him so "unfairly."
