The Republican Party's candidate for Senator in Ohio is defending himself after reporters revealed that he flew on a strip club owner's private plane to meet with Christian leaders in Southern Ohio, reports the Plain Dealer.

Rep. Jim Renacci got on a private plane with Peek-a-Boo Club owner Don Ksiezyk to see faith leaders in southern Ohio. He turned things around on reporters covering the story instead of writing about what he alleges were "abuses" by Democratic incumbent Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH).

"I'm going with a volunteer, and no one's concerned about traveling with him or anything," Renacci said. "Again, it's so sad that we're worried about my travel, which is legal, but you won't report on Sherrod Brown's multiple abuses over the years."

Renacci said he will make no effort to verify that the people helping his campaign are not criminals or engaged in unsavory business.

"He's a volunteer who... I met during the campaign. He asked to volunteer for me," Renacci said. "I'm not going to vet volunteers, and I'm not going to vet the press's looking at volunteers."

Renacci was recruited by Donald Trump and has supported the president even in his lowest moments.
