On Monday, CNN's host Jim Sciutto nailed Scott Jennings, a former senior adviser to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), after he tried to defend the president against Retired Adm. William McRaven comments.

McRaven warned that Trump's attacks on the media are the "the greatest threat to democracy."

Trump responded to the attacks by calling McRaven a "Hillary Clinton fan."

During the opening of his show, Scuitto read the Republican Party's latest tweet joining the president in his attack on McRaven. He went on to recall when President Barack Obama "got in trouble for saluting marines with a coffee in his hand."

Jennings went on to say that Trump has done a lot for the military such as increasing spending and giving troops pay raises.

Sciutto nailed Jennings by saying that Trump could never understand the high call of the military because he refused to "serve."
