Democrats are aggressively looking to pick up state attorneys general offices in Tuesday's elections, which will allow them to thwart President Donald Trump, reports Fox News.

"Much like GOP attorneys general buffeted the Obama administration with lawsuits challenging an array of regulations, Democratic AGs have made an industry out of taking President Trump to court," Fox reports. "And in today's midterms, a number of candidates are campaigning to join that fight, even as these races largely fly under the radar."

State attorney general races have taken a back seat to the legislature in places like Florida. But if Democratic nominee Sean Shaw wins in the Sunshine State, they will join Democratic attorneys general in Maryland and the District of Columbia in filing suit over the emoluments clause, challenging Trump’s business ties to foreign entities in violation of the Constitution.

It won't just be Trump's ties to Russia and Saudi Arabia on the table. Democratic AGs could also file suit against Trump to stop radical Republican abortion laws, keep the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program in place, stop his Muslim ban and block family separations at the border.

The story cites a Washington Post column that called these attorneys general the “muscle of the resistance,” which "could freeze the Trump Train in its tracks.”
