“This was an unfortunate distraction and has been addressed,” the statement continued.

The night before, Hannity called the press “fake news” during the GOP stump appearance.

In his own statement released on Twitter, the host claimed he wasn’t referring to his Fox colleagues.

“To be clear, I was not referring to my journalist colleagues at FOX News in those remarks,” he tweeted. “They do amazing work day in and day out in a fair and balanced way and It is an honor to work with such great professionals.”

After all, the incumbent has nothing real to run on. The economy is the worst it's been since the Great Depression of the 1930s, Americans are losing health insurance by the millions, and Republicans are responding by trying to shortchange unemployment benefits for the millions of people who've lost their jobs.
