Appearing on CNN, House Intel Committee member Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) said she would like to compel Don Trump Jr. to appear before her committee again because she believes he lied at least two times during a previous appearance.

Speaking with host Brianna Keilar, the California Democrat was asked where she expected special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into the Trump administration to go, and she mentioned testimony she has already heard.

After stating that it is her expectation that all testimony under oath would be truthful, Speier was asked by the CNN host specifically about Don Jr.

"Do you think Donald Trump Jr. lied to your committee?" Keilar asked.

"I believe he did," the lawmaker replied only to be asked specifics.

"I don't really want to go into it, but I think there is at least two occasions when he lied to the committee," she replied.

"Did this come to light to you after learning what [Trump attorney] Michael Cohen said he was dishonest about?" Keilar pressed.

"In part, but in part it's related to documents we were never able to subpoena because the Republicans were really the puppets of the president and not being the independent investigative authority that we should have been looking at the issue," the Democrat complained.

Asked about her plans going forward now that Democrats will be taking control of her committee, Speier stated, "We want to hear from, I think a number of people that we have already interviewed. There were another 30 individuals we wanted to interview that were never approved by the majority."
