Unlike his older sister and her husband, Eric Trump did not join his father's administration and has no formal role in government.
Instead, he works as executive vice president of the Trump Organization.
That did not stop long-time Trump aide from using Eric Trump's name to try and get a federal employee fired, The Washington Post reported Monday.
Longtime Trump family aide and Housing and Urban Development advisor Lynne Patton sought to fire Maren Kasper, the White House liason to the department.
“Dr. Carson & his team deem her divisive and disruptive, as do I,” Patton wrote in February. “If it helps, Eric Trump agrees that it’s best to nip this potential problem in the bud & told me to call Jared [Kushner], if necessary, but I prefer to go through you all first.”
The email was sent to Sean Doocey, the director of the Office of Presidential Personnel.
Kasper reportedly did not think Trump would win reelection in 2020.
“This is effectively Code Red status now," Patton wrote the following day.
